Aston continued their fine league form with a vital win against local rivals Risborough Rangers on saturday. The weather played havoc again as both teams had to get used to the strong blustery conditions. It was Risborough who started the brightest going close on a few occasions eventually breaking the deadlock after a goal-line scramble. Aston really struggled to get into the game and won a valuable penalty just before half-time when Aaron Usmani was brought down and Neil Roberts dispatched from 12 yards. Taurean O'Sullivan gave Aston the upper hand ten minutes into the second half when he cut in from the left hand side and fired a booming shot into bottom corner of the goal. It only took another five minutes for Aston to add their third after a break down the left saw O'Sullivan lay the ball back to Danny Bowden who whipped the ball in onto the head of Steve Powell whos looping header beat the Risborough keeper. Risborough hit back very strong in a mad five minutes with two quick goals both from long range, catching keeper Farmer out to make the score 3-3. In this busy spell Usmani was again brought down in the area and Roberts again finishing the penalty. Pete Weirch made it five with a header from a cross in by new signing Joy Huque and Steven Powell rounded the scoring off with a header ten minutes from time after a corner.
